June Skidmore Bentley, 91, of Garrison, died Saturday morning, May 25, 2019, at Southern Ohio Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
She was born on June 13, 1927, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Floyd and Rebecca Christy Skidmore.
June was a member of Garrison First Christian Church and she, along with her husband Orville, were the owners of Bentley Brothers Grocery for 65 years.
June is survived by a son, Dale Bentley (Jennifer) of Garrison; three daughters, Jeanne Bivens (Tom), Marsha Collins (John) and Lisa LeMaster (Terry) all of Garrison; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Orville Bentley; four brothers, Christy Skidmore, Orville Skidmore, Leroy Skidmore and Buster Skidmore; and three sisters, Ruth Erwin, Helen Erwin and Nellie Blevins.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at Garrison First Christian Church with Dr. Charles Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Soldier Cemetery at Garrison.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2019, and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church building.
