Gregg Allen Bocook, 60, of Vanceburg, entered into rest Thursday morning, January 16, 2020, at his home.
He was born January 15, 1960, in Boyd County, a son of the late Cleotis and Deloris Jean Wagoner Bocook.
Gregg was a member of Garvin Ridge Wesleyan Church, American Legion Post #138, and Sons of the American Legion. He was currently a foster parent and enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to deer camp with his friends, son, and grandkids, going to church, listening to music, helping others, taking care of his kids, telling jokes to make people laugh and above all, spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren.
Gregg is survived by his wife of five years, Margaret James “Margie” Bocook; 11 sons, Clint Davis of Olive Hill, Gregg Allen Bocook (Becky) of Emerson, Matt Logan (Cindi), Josh Logan, Daniel Logan (Tiffany) and Gage James, all of Grayson, Private First Class Jerrod Michael Knipp of 29 Palms, California, Isaiah, Jayden, James, and Bradley; two daughters, Carrie Barnett (Steve) of Clay City, and Nickiey Caudill (Jeremy) of Grayson; 23 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Jessee of Olive Hill, and Kavon Bocook (Angie) of Vanceburg; three sisters, Phyllis Tackett (Virgil), Joyce Justice (Harry) and Karen Logan, all of Olive Hill; and one aunt, Betty Wagoner Dunaway of Sandy Hook. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sheila Stevens Oney; and one brother, Tommy Bocook.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2020, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Bro. Steven Tabor and Bro. JC Bond officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Carter County.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, January 19, 2020, and after 9:00 a.m. Monday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60 at Olive Hill.
Pallbearers will be Gregg Allen “Hogg” Bocook, Clint Davis, Jeremy Caudill, Daniel Logan, Willie Haywood, Matt Logan and Josh Logan. Honorary pallbearers will be Private First Class Jerrod Michael Knipp, Gage James, Shorty Stiltner, Mark Lowe and Tony Stiltner.
