Judy Iery

Judy Lena Frances Iery, 76, of Vanceburg, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born November 4, 1944, at Quicks Run, a daughter of the late Charles and Minnie Belle McCann Iery.

Judy was of the Christian faith and attended Muses Chapel and Aills Christian Church with her family. She was a homemaker and caregiver. Judy enjoyed listening to Bluegrass and old gospel music, and watching old westerns. She loved decorating and traveling. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Judy loved spending time with her family. She was an avid sports fan who loved the Cincinnati Reds, especially attending David Iery Day and riding the chartered bus to and from the games, and attending Lexington Legends games.

Judy is survived by a daughter, Carol (Richie) Cunningham of Tollesboro; three sons, Russell (Beverly) Iery, Myron (Brenda Sue) Iery, and David (Kim Wolpert) Iery, all of Quicks Run; her siblings, Joyce McCleese of Mentone, Indiana, Shirley (Marvin) McCleese of Leesburg, Indiana, Charles Iery and Roger (Patricia) Irey of Quicks Run, Bob (Susan) Iery of Aberdeen, Ohio, and Janice (Roy) Polley of Quicks Run; six grandchildren, Brandon Walker, Breanna (Michael) Applegate, Ryan Iery, Savannah Iery, Justin (Samantha) Cunningham, and Michael Iery; five great-grandchildren, Baylor Applegate, Maverick Applegate, Knox Applegate, Londyn Cunningham, and Kamri Miller Iery; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Randy Eugene Iery and Gary Iery, and a brother-in-law, Hobert McCleese.

Private visitation will be Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg.

A private graveside service will be Wednesday, December 2, 2020, in Muses Chapel Cemetery with Bro. Tom Cox Jr. officiating.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Walker, Michael Applegate, Justin Cunningham, Ryan Iery, Michael Iery, Greg McCleese, Kevin McCleese, and Mark McCleese. Zander Hartley, Jordan Applegate, Randy Irey, Nicholas Iery, and David Nathaniel Iery will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Due to COVID-19 regulations, we ask that everyone wear a mask and practice social distancing.
