Emeric Dummitt

Emeric Monroe Dummitt, 92, of Garrison, passed away Friday, September 23, 2022, at the home of his son surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Greenup County on February 11, 1930, a son of the late Arthur Lee and Allie Goddard Dummitt.

He enjoyed riding his horses and mules and spending time with his family.

Monroe is survived by three sons Clayton (Pansey) Dummitt, Phillip (Linda) Dummitt, and Rocky (Sue) Dummitt of Garrison; four daughters, Sandra Sue Horsley and Elizabeth Howell of Garrison, Vickie (Kenny) Christy of Vanceburg, and Glenna (Michael) Lehn of Quincy; one brother, Grover Dummitt of Garrison; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Amelia Louise Bear Dummitt; one grandson, Abraham Dummitt; two great-grandsons, Zachary Michael Horsley and Hamilton Jackson; five brothers, Mart Dummitt, Buster Dummitt, Tom Dummitt, George Dummitt, and Bob Dummitt; and three infant sisters.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel in Garrison with Bro. Tim Underwood officiating. Burial will follow in Bear Cemetery on Tick Ridge in Greenup County.

Friends may visit after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue at Garrison.

Pallbearers will be Joe Horsley, Adam Dummitt, Michael Edington, Rex Dummitt, Tyler Dummitt, Zack Lehn, and Izak Whitton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Zornes, Cody Jackson, Mason Jackson, and Tucker Dummitt.
