Eugene “Pic” Hill Jr., 75, of Vanceburg, passed away on September 24, 2022, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Pic was born at Vanceburg on November 24, 1946, a son of the late Eugene Hill Sr. and Jeanette Pollitt.
Pic went to work at an early age as he was a tireless worker and was retired from People’s Self-Help Housing Inc. He enjoyed being with his family, playing pool, and going to swap meets.
Left to cherish Pic’s memories are brothers, James (Diane) Hill of Ribolt and Roger (Vickie) Evans of Vanceburg; eight children, Barbara (James) Kwolik of Winona, Minnesota, Sharon (Tracy) Zornes of Canton, Ohio, Debra (Terry) Embry and Steven Hill, both of Morgantown, David Hill and Jimmy (Cassie) Hill, both of Vanceburg, Michael Hill of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Michelle (Chris) Wachter of Augusta; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and lifelong friend, Kay Walters of Vanceburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two granddaughters; Bethany and Sierra; one grandson, Heath; and wife, Shirley.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Slate Hollow Pentecostal Church with Bro. Danny Cooley, who Pic loved as though he were his son, officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Pic’s grandsons, Stephen Andrew Hill, Danny Ray Cooley, Austin Hill, Damian Hill, Ryan Hill, Dawson Hill, Christopher Kwolik, Coy Hill, Issac Adams, and Dylan Hill.
Honorary pallbearers will be Pic’s great-grandsons, Stetson Hill, Daxton Hill, Chandler Hill, Levi Hill, Kayden Hill, and Waylon Cooley.
