Barbara Scott Welch, 78, of Garrison, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022, at her home.
She was born at Portsmouth, Ohio, on May 9, 1944, a daughter of the late Oscar “Bud” Scott and Waneda Brown Scott.
Barb was a faithful member of Garrison Methodist Church where she led the singing, taught the young peoples class, and was the church treasurer. She loved her family and her dog, Heidi.
Survivors include her stepson, Keith Welch (Glenda) of Quincy; a sister, Sandra Johnson of Portsmouth, Ohio; her sister-in-law, Ruthie Platt (Bill) of Garrison; a nephew, Brandon Scott (Sarah) of Catlettsburg; great-nieces, Kaylee and Allison Scott; and nieces, Michelle Sprunger (Steve) and daughter Maren of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jill Kolar (Jim) of Wheelersburg, Ohio, and Nic Johnson (Jacob) and daughter Sofia, of Wheelersburg, Ohio. Barb also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, and loving neighbors who will sadly miss her.
Barb was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Herman “Bill” Welch, and her brother, Timothy Lee Scott.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2022, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue at Garrison, with Pastor Tim Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Waring Cemetery at Garrison.
