Leroy Jordan, 88, of Garrison, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at his home.
Leroy was born in Lewis County on January 9, 1934, a son of the late George H. and Pearlie Arms Jordan. He was a farmer and worked construction among many various jobs throughout his life.
He was a member of the Kentucky Christian Conference and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict.
Left to cherish Leroy’s memories are his wife of 61 years, Linda Sue Horsley Jordan, whom he married February 28, 1961, and two sisters, Ina Horsley and Dorothy Kathleen Jordan of Vanceburg. Many nieces and nephews also survive who will mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Gladeline Cassidy, Noreen Rowland, Dolly Kelly, Mamie, and Christine Horsley who died in infancy, and five brothers, Arville Jordan, Roy Jordan, Troy Jordan, Coy Jordan, and Finley Jordan.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Gaydos Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Brother Chris Lawhun officiating. Burial will follow in Howard Cemetery at Tannery.
Military graveside rites will be accorded by WN Fant American Legion Post # 5 of Flemingsburg.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 28, 2022, after 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
