Franklin Dean Thomas, 66, of Tollesboro, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023, at his residence.
He was born Friday, October 16, 1956, in Lewis County, a son of Barbara Spencer Thomas of Tollesboro and the late Franklin Delano Thomas.
Franklin was a truck driver and also school bus driver for the Lewis County School System. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, family cookouts, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his mother, Franklin is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, April Ingram Thomas; one son, Franklin Delano Thomas II (Heather Perry) of LaGrange, Indiana; one daughter, Bettina (David) Hay of Tollesboro; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Bevins (Howard LaPolt) of Florida; and two sisters, Arlene (Billy) Mason of Tollesboro and Patricia Cruz of Flordia. Many other family and friends also survive who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Artis Cummins, Kenny Cummins, and Monty Cummins; and one sister, Jenetta Marie Cummins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the family’s residence in Tollesboro.
