Patricia Gail Smith Thompson, 78, of Vanceburg, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023, at her home.
She was born June 21, 1945, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a daughter of the late John Edward and Edna Loraine Webster Smith.
She enjoyed shopping, fishing, and spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Debra Thompson of Vanceburg; three sons, Tommy Thompson of Rainbow, Alabama, David (Tonia) Thompson of Flatwoods, and Mark Thompson (Cirila Munoz Franco) of Albertville, Alabama; two sisters, Rachel Sizemore and Jacqulin Griffin of Vanceburg; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Emerson Franklin Thompson; four sisters, Linda Covington, Glaydos Blankenship, Lorreta Smith, and Deloris Johnson; and two brothers, Donald Smith and Willard “Joseph” Smith.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Tony Corns officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2023, and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Dickerson Funeral Home.
