Linda Sue Moore Scott, 71, went home to be with the Lord Sunday morning, July 31, 2016, at her home on Front Street in Vanceburg.

She was born June 11, 1945, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Ova and Mary Mefford Moore.

Linda was a member of the Scott’s Branch Church of Christ and loved going to church, working in her flower garden, listening to bluegrass and country music, watching Cincinnati Reds baseball games and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Anthony Wayne Scott; two brothers, Harry Moore and Robert Moore; and four sisters, Opal Moore, Doris Kinney, Mildred Ginn, and Eunice Armstrong.

Linda is survived by her husband of 55 years, Hubert Gene Scott; one son, Kevin Scott of San Antonio, Texas; three daughters, Marsha Scaggs (Jack) of Burlington, Kimberly Mattingly (Mark) of Brandenburg, and Lisa Shoemaker (Sean Mansfield) of Vanceburg; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Richard Moore (Bertie) and Keith Moore (Beverly), all of Vanceburg, and Donald Moore (Bonnie) of Frazierburg, Ohio; and two sisters, Virginia Gilbert of Vanceburg, and Carolyn Lowhorn of Woodburn.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2016, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. Bob Lawhorn and Bro. David Prater officiating. Burial will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2016, and until the service hour on Friday at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
