Marlin Caseman

Marlin M. Caseman, 100, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023, at his home in Vanceburg.

Marlin was born February 9, 1923, in Vanceburg, a son of the late Beryl and Sarah Yates Caseman.  He worked for various sawmills in the area and also worked for US Shoe Corporation in Vanceburg for several years. Marlin had an artistic flair of taking anything and making it useful. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army, of which he was so proud. Most of all he loved his children and grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memories are a daughter, Barbara (Ted) Wells of Vanceburg; one son, Henry (Barb) Caseman of Vanceburg; two grandchildren, Kathy (Chuck) Riffe and Karen (David) Morgan of Vanceburg; four great-granddaughters, Stephanie Corns, Christy Carver, Kelli Riffe, and Erika Morgan; and eight great-great-grandchildren, Charles, Henry, Sawyer, Ariona, Elaina, Kayrena, Noah, and Colson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Smith Caseman in 2012; three sons, Randolph Caseman, Leroy Caseman, and Donald Caseman; one sister, Kathryn Caseman; and five brothers- Lee Caseman, William Caseman, Leonard Caseman, Clearence Caseman, and James Caseman.  One great-great-grandson Isaac Corns.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2024, in Evans Cemetery at Vanceburg with Bro. Tony Corns officiating.

Military graveside rites will be accorded by Monte Lewis Stamm VFW Post 5438.

Gaydos Funeral Home in Vanceburg is caring for all arrangements.
