Douglas Brown

Walter “Douglas” Brown, 63, of Vanceburg, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Hospice of Hope Care Center in Maysville.

He was born May 18, 1960, in Lewis County, a son of the late Earl Joel (Joe Bud) and Betty Newton Brown.

Douglas was of the Christian faith. He loved working and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Geneva Moore Brown; two daughters, Pamela (Floyd) Hobbs of Tollesboro and Sonia Wilson of Garrison; three sons, Joshua Douglas Brown, Charley Ray (Lisa) Dyer, and James Russell (Amanda) Dyer of Vanceburg; four sisters, Susie (Stanley) Hester of Tollesboro, and Helen (Jeff) Hyrne, Chyrel (Wendall) Cooper, and Wanda (Doug) Hyrne of Vanceburg; one brother, Earl (Jane) Brown Jr. of Vanceburg; 11 grandchildren, Trenton, Adriana, Taylor, Hannah, Jeremiah, Keanua, Landon, Jayden, Hunter, Isiaih, and Lindsey; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny Eugene Brown and Ervin Brown.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Travis Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Armstrong Cemetery.

Friends may visit after 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Dickerson Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be James Dyer, Charley Dyer, Landon Dyer, Dawson Moore, Hunter Hobbs, and Isiaih Hobbs.

Trenton Brown will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
