Dennis L. Gilbert, 68, of River Run Healthcare of Portsmouth, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Southern Ohio Medical Center Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio.
Dennis was born at Portsmouth, Ohio, on April 21, 1956, a son of the late Elza Gilbert Jr. and Ailene Jordan Gilbert Burriss.
He worked for Swan Manufacturing Company in Bucyrus, Ohio, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Dennis was of the Christian faith.
Left to cherish Dennis’ memories are two sisters, Darlene (Mike) Gilliam of South Shore and Joyce Ann (Danny) Cooley of Vanceburg; two brothers, Ronnie (Charlene) Burriss of South Shore and Kevin Burriss (Christy Kidd) of Mount Sterling; and a special aunt, Betty Bevins of Ohio. Many nieces and nephews, and friends also survive who also will mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Gilbert, in 2023.
Graveside services will be Friday, September 13, 2024, in Black Oak Cemetery with Bro. Tony Corns officiating. Burial will follow.
Pallbearers will be Buck Burriss, Mike Gilliam, Kevin Burriss, Matthew Maynard, Coy Hill, and Zac Burriss.
