Dave Cooper

David Wayne Cooper, 61, a resident of Willard, Ohio, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024. 

He was born on November 5, 1962, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of the late James Ralph and Phyllis (McKee) Cooper.

A 1981 graduate of Seneca East High School, Dave was employed at Midwest Industries and Walmart. He loved attending auctions, listening to bluegrass music, and never missed a Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds, or Kentucky Wildcats game. The most important part of his life was spending time with his children, grandchildren, and family, and all the gatherings with them.

Dave is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Brandy (Lacy) Cooper; four children, Makayla England, Samantha (Ian) McClellan, RJ Cooper, and Andrew Straughn; five grandchildren, Emiliano Martinez, Jeremiah Martinez, Ivy Sage McClellan, Ian McClellan Jr., and one on the way, baby Bodie; three siblings, Michael (Linda) Cooper of Seymour, Tennessee, Keith (Sue) Cooper of Huron, Ohio, and Tracey (Kelly) Cooper of Quincy; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Russell and Janet Lacy; and brother-in-law, Zach Lacy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Debra Sue Lykins, and numerous half siblings, aunts, and uncles.

Family and friends may call on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Secor Funeral Home in Willard from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. 

Dave’s service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tony Cooper and Pastor Carl Angel officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery at Willard.
