Hazel Imogine Stone Fannin, 94, of Vanceburg, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe in Maysville. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Hazel was born in Lewis County on September 29, 1930, a daughter of the late Mantford and Sarah Helterbrand Stone.
She was a member of Scotts Branch Church of Christ. She loved her flowers and going fishing. She also loved baking and working on her quilting in her spare time.
Left to cherish Hazel’s memories are a stepson, Stephen (Debbie) Fannin of Vanceburg; three grandchildren, Stephanie Taylor, Sheryl (Sam) Bond, and Joseph (Danielle) Evans; seven great-grandchildren, Cody Zornes, Elizabeth Taylor, Breanna Bond, Kaitlyn Bond, Cruz Evans, Hailee Evans, and Christopher Evans; a great-great-grandchild, Avery Gilvin; two step-grandchildren, Clint (Amanda) Fannin and Cairee Fannin; and three step-great-grandchildren, Weston, Harrison, and Theodore Fannin. Several nieces and nephews also survive who also will mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Fannin in 1999; a daughter, Janet Evans in 1998; a son, Johnny Blevins; a stepson, Walter Watson Fannin; three sisters, Minnie Blevins, Lillie Blevins, and Margaret Hall; four brothers, Harry, William Edward, Junior, and Roy Stone; and a son-in-law, Larry Dale Evans in 2024.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Gaydos Funeral Home, 159 Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Jerry Bloomfield officiating. Burial will follow in Morgan Cemetery at Head of Grassy.
Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Gaydos Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Sam Bond, Joe Evans, Chris Evans, Cruz Evans, Steve Frodge, Payton Gilvin, and Ryan Smart. An honorary pallbearer will be Cody Zornes.
