Wayne Howard

Wayne Howard, 91, of Garrison, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at King’s Daughter Medical Center in Ashland.

He was born in Greenup County on December 20, 1932, a son of the late Robert Mason and Mary Elizabeth Duewel Howard.

Wayne was a member of Wrights Chapel Church in Garrison and loved attending every service he could. He was a lifelong farmer, carpenter, and member of Local #437 in Portsmouth, Ohio, for 70 years, a member of Stone City Masonic Lodge #963, and a member of Scottish Rite of Covington. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, working on the farm, giving to people, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include three sons, Michael (Traci) Howard of Spring Hill, Tennessee, Jeffery (Pam) Boggs of Garrison, and Robert (Tana) Boggs of Lucasville, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, Jason Boggs, Derrick Boggs, Elizabeth (Collie) Crawford, Cody (Autumn) Howard, Mason (Sofia) Massie, Justin (Katelyn) Massie, Bridget Howard, Sarah (Carter) Moore, Tabitha Boggs, and Mason Howard; one great-grandson, Norman Crawford; a daughter-in-law, Patty Howard of Garrison; and a son-in-law, Thomas Massie. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss him.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Erma Meadows Boggs Howard; one daughter, Rhonda Massie; three sons, Lonnie Howard, Phillip Howard, and Gary Howard; two sisters, Evelyn Burton and Avanelle Adkins; and four brothers, Elby Howard, Artie Howard, William Howard, and Lawrence Howard.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue in Garrison, with Bro. Larry Joe Madden and Bro. Morgan Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Logan Cemetery on Zion Ridge in Greenup County.

Friends may visit after Noon Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel in Garrison.

Pallbearers will be Cody Howard, Mason Massie, Justin Massie, Collie Crawford, Carter Moore, Jeff Boggs, and Thomas Massie.
