Nellie Mae Kennard Butler, 80, of Tollesboro, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2024, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville.
She was born November 18, 1944, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Claxon Kennard.
Nellie enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, baking, traveling, watching movies, and spending time with her family and her pet dogs.
Survivors include two sons, Timothy (Janet) Butler of Dayton and Tony (Bobbie) Butler of Melbourne; two sisters, Sue Alcorn and Helen (Bill) Bullock of Shelbyville, Indiana; one brother, Bill Kennard of Shelbyville, Indiana; three grandchildren, Astin (Emilee) Butler, Brittany (Joel) Samsn, and Savannah (Josiah) Barkdoll; and five great-grandchildren, Elspeth, Logan, Peter, Montgomery, and Maelee. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Buddy Butler, and one brother, Wayne Kennard.
Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 11918 KY 57 at Tollesboro, with Father Timothy Butler and Bro. Jerry Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery at Tollesboro.
Friends may visit after 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Tollesboro Funeral Home.
