Johanna Rodgers

Elizabeth Johanna Rodgers, 88, of Hopkinsville, formerly of Olive Hill, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Jennie Stuart Health in Hopkinsville.

She was born at Wesleyville on June 20, 1936, a daughter of the late Robert Earl and Mary Pearl Fultz Spencer.

Johanna graduated from Carter City High School in 1955 and then began her work career. She worked 48 years as a production manager and supervisor in a sewing factory and was instructional assistant for the Carter County Board of Education for 12 years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, working with her flowers, working crossword puzzles, and coloring books.

Johanna is survived by two daughters, Bonita Kennedy of Hopkinsville and Angie Kelley of Grayson; a son, Phillip (Janet) Rodgers of Vanceburg; one sister, Mary Francis Steward of Mansfield, Ohio; eight grandchildren, David Kennedy, Jennifer (Doug) Peck, Eric (Tori) Kennedy, Nicholas (Heather) Rodgers, Thomas Rodgers (Paige Fryman), Jeanette Fannin, Matthew Kelley, and Allison Kelley (Jordan Bowen); 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bobby Gene Rodgers; two sisters, Bobbie Jean Baker and Rozan Greenhill; and a brother, Ottis Todd Fultz.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60 at Olive Hill, with Sister Anita Wells Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery.

Friends may visit after 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Globe Funeral Chapel.
