Calvin Baker

Calvin Arthur Baker, 65, of Scotts Branch Road, Vanceburg, passed away Monday, April 14, 2025, at his home.

He was born November 18, 1959, in Carter County, a son of the late Brady and Janet Gail Erwin Baker.

Calvin worked endless hours hanging sheetrock and doing drywall work. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, being outdoors, gardening, eating out, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Karen Lewis Baker; one daughter, Megan Plank of Vanceburg; two sisters, Charlotte (Greg) Rayburn of Emerson and Shelia Hall of Olive Hill; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Plank and Jacob Plank; and his mother-in-law, Mary Roar Lewis of Scotts Branch. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gregory Allen Baker; a sister-in-law, Cathy Horsley; a brother-in-law, Billy Hall; and his father-in-law, Eugene Lewis.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2025, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60 at Olive Hill, with Bro. David Rayburn officiating. Burial will follow in Baker Cemetery at Olive Hill.

Friends may visit after 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2025, at Globe Funeral Chapel at Olive Hill.

Pallbearers will be Craig Rayburn, Nick Rayburn, Ryan Rayburn, Chris Hall, Brian Horsley and Mark Horsley.
