Donald Lee Carver, 89, of Garrison, passed away on the morning of Friday, April 11, 2025, at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
He was born September 6, 1935, on the family farm in Carter County, a son of the late William R. and Edna M. Carver. He was retired from Laborers Local 423 Columbus, Ohio.
Survivors include his wife, Matilda Carver; a daughter, Angela Potter (Terry) of Quincy; two sons, Keith Carver (Kim) of DeBerry, Texas, and James Carver (Nannette Dillow) of Greenup; five granddaughters, Christina Carver and Carrie Carver of Circleville, Ohio, Jessica Johnson (Daniel) of Shreveport, Louisiana, Patricia Greenwell (Brandon) of Rogersville, Tennessee, and Crystal Carver of Church Hill, Tennessee; four grandsons, Mitchell Carver (Beth) of DeBerry, Texas, Bryan Carver of Surgoinsville, Tennessee, and Kristopher Merkey and Jacob Bowen of Quincy; three stepchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 61 years, Carlene Carver; two daughters, Nancy L. Carver and Dewayna L. Adams; two sons, William Q. Carver and Jeff B. Carver; and three grandsons, Eric Carver, James E. Carver, and Dustin Q. Carver.
As Don leaves this earth, bound for Heaven, he will be received there by many loved ones. He leaves behind a long legacy of strong work ethics, advice unmatched, a heart of gold for everyone he knew, and a well-traveled life throughout his years of providing for and raising his family.
He enjoyed attending auctions, viewing online auctions, raising his summer gardens full of vegetables, and hunting and picking blackberries at the farm on which he was raised.
A private graveside service will be at the convenience of the family.
