Lanny Ray Stone, 70, of Vanceburg, went home to be with the Lord Friday, May 2, 2025, at his home. He was surrounded by his loving family.
He was born April 26, 1955, in Lewis County, a son of Virgie Evans Stone of Vanceburg and the late Denny Stone.
Lanny was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He enjoyed going to auctions and yard sales, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family, friends, and church family.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Marilyn Owens Stone; two daughters, Tiffany Crockett of Lexington and Mary Mancuso of Illinois; one son, Brad (Stacy) Stone of Garrison; one brother, Darrell (Chastity) Stone of Vanceburg; 10 grandchildren, Lyndsey, Keegan, Ethan, Bryan, Madison, Ryland, Britton, Bailey, Bentley, and Braylen; and four great-grandchildren, Kayson, Mia, Eloise, and Charlotte. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Ashley Stone and two brothers, Gregory Stone and Alan Duane Stone.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Edison Buchanan and Bro. Brad Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Stone Family Cemetery.
Friends may visit after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Dickerson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jarrod Wells, Bradley Stone, Dylan Clark, Johnny Jones, Brian Fritz, Bill Stone, and Bentley Crockett.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bentley, Crockett, Braylen Stone, and Bailey Stone.
