Nancy Mae Hobbs Carrington, 67, of Vanceburg, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Vanceburg Hills after an extended illness. Her loving family was at her side.
Nancy was born November 5, 1957, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Wilford and Opal Mae McCleese Hobbs. She had worked at Superior Fibers and was a homemaker. Â
Left to cherish Nancy’s memories are her husband of 49 years, Roy Carrington; two daughters, Rebecca Tackett of Vanceburg and Rachel Passarella of Sarasota, Florida; a son, Anthony (Jessica) Carrington of Vanceburg; a brother, Kenneth (Regina) Hobbs of Vanceburg; and eight grandchildren. Many other family members and friends also survive who will mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Marlene Williamson, Pauline Collier, and Darlene Barker, and nine brothers, Roy Hobbs, Virgil Hobbs, Willie Hobbs, Ralph Hobbs, Gary Hobbs, Jack Hobbs, James Hobbs, Roger Hobbs, and Kendall Hobbs.
A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2025, in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak with Bro. Larry Carrington officiating.
