Alice Miracle

Alice Faye Brown Miracle, 77, of Vanceburg, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, June 14, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 21, 1947, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a daughter of Howard Brown Sr. and Mabel Scott Brown.

Alice retired from Nine West Shoe Factory with over 30 years of service. She later worked at the Lewis County Child Care Center for six years as an infant room teacher, where she made many friends. She was a member of Vanceburg Church of God and loved going to church, reading her Bible, listening to Christian music, and spending time with her church family. Alice prayed daily for her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren—they were the loves of her life.

Survivors include two daughters, Tammy Adkins and Becky (Jesse) Stevenson of Vanceburg; two sisters, Brenda (Roger) Lykins of Wallingford and Janice (Roger) Gum of Garrison; three brothers, Howard Brown Jr. of Pensacola, Florida, Jerry Brown of Jacksonville, Florida, and Robert Brown of Vanceburg; three grandchildren, Jesse Stevenson Jr., Martin Burriss Jr., and Alison Stevenson; and three great-grandchildren, Jace McClurg, Charlie Burriss, and Jax Doran. Many other family members and friends also mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Russell “Pete” Miracle, and three sisters, Rosemary Brown, Christine Strausbaugh, and Patty Rose.

Services will be at Noon Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Brian Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.

Friends may visit after 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Dickerson Funeral Home.
