Allen Eugene Bryan, 70, of Tollesboro, formerly of Vanceburg, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025, at Hospice of Hope at Kenton Pointe in Maysville after an extended illness.
He was born in Lewis County on August 25, 1954, a son of the late Howard E. and Ruby Kinney Morgan Bryan.
Allen worked in sawmills, logging, and farming, but his true passion was operating his own business. He was the owner of Bryan’s Satellite Sales and Service, which he operated for 40 years. A civic-minded individual, Allen was a member and past president of the Vanceburg Lions Club. He was also the recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award, the highest form of recognition for exemplary service to the club and community. He supported several other community organizations and was of the Baptist faith. Allen proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 48 years, Connie Carrington Bryan; two sons, Allen David (Joela) Bryan of Vanceburg and Joshua (Jenna) Bryan of Tollesboro; four sisters, Debbie Bryan of South Carolina, Mary (Kenneth) Fite of Vanceburg, and Pam (Eddie) Gray, and Sharon Howard of Paducah; two brothers, Harold (Trudy) Bryan of Mt. Orab, Ohio, and Jon Smith of Paducah; and two granddaughters, Rebecca Colley and Journie Bryan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Ann Henderson; maternal grandparents, Edgar and Mary Kinney; paternal grandparents, Roy and Lula Virginia Bryan; and three nephews, Tanner Howard, Adam Gray, and James R. Cooper.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Gaydos Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Rev. Maurice Pierce and Dr. John D. O’Cull officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.
Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Gaydos Funeral Home, 159 Second Street in Vanceburg.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Bevins, Jeff Himes, Richard Tillery, Jerry Ruggles, Tim Fite, Jon Fite, and Jon Smith. Honorary pallbearer will be Mike Clark.
