Donna Bennett

Our hearts are deeply saddened as we say goodbye to our beloved mom, Donna Lou Bennett, who passed away on September 1, 2025, at the age of 71.

She was born November 9, 1953, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Carl and Beaulah Scott Monteith.

Mom was a woman of tremendous heart, and her smile had the power to light up every room she entered. She worked tirelessly to provide for her family and took so much pride in every one of us. Her love was steady, her strength was inspiring, and her joy for life was contagious.

Her greatest devotion was to her husband, Scott Bennett, and to God. That devotion shaped who she was—faithful, compassionate, and endlessly giving. She lived her life as an example of love, faith, and commitment, reminding us all of what truly matters.

She loved to travel, shop, and enjoy life’s simple pleasures, but what she cherished most was time with her family. Family was everything to her, and she made sure each of us felt loved beyond measure.

Though our hearts ache with her loss, we carry her spirit with us—her laughter, her wisdom, and the way she made each of us feel special. Mom will forever live on in our memories and in the love we share as a family.

Survivors include two daughters, Melissa (Israel) Laurin of Bryan, Ohio, and Stacey (Lee) Forker; six sisters, Dorothy (Dean) Carver, Kathy (Mike) Nolen, Mabel Nolen, Arta Parker, Peggy Vaughn, and Sharon (Randy) Creech; two brothers, Earl Monteith and Mike Monteith; five grandchildren, Carlee (John) Walencik, Devin Forker, Alyssa (Reggie) Cromartie, Alexis Laurin, and Zane Laurin; and two great-granddaughters, Olivia Walencik and Korra Cremartie, and one great-granddaughter on the way. Many other family members and friends will also mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Samuel Scott Bennett; three sisters, Eva “Snookie’ King, Anna Thurman, and Brenda Bruce; and two brothers, Carl Monteith and Noble Monteith.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2025, at Petersville Church of God with Bro. Milt Stanfield officiating. Burial will follow in Muses Chapel Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services, and after 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 8, at the church.

Condolences may be sent at www.globefamilyfc.com.
