Faye Lewis

Georgia “Faye” Lewis, 66, loving mother of two, and adoring wife to husband Michael Lewis of Vanceburg, passed away in the early hours of October 5th peacefully in her sleep. Faye was born November 4, 1958 in Greenup and grew up surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Smith, and mother, Lula Mae Smith, and her two brothers, Rick Smith and Kenneth Smith.

Faye was a loving and caring woman, always giving her time to others and spent much of her time supporting the needs of children in the community. In her free time, though limited to physical activity, she enjoyed working with her hands crocheting and recycling.

She met her husband Mike of 50 years while working on the farm, they married on December 14, 1974. Faye also worked for the US Shoe Corporation here in Vanceburg. As a mother, she was generous, loving, and kind. When Faye became a grandmother, she was absolutely thrilled.  he will be greatly missed by her family that includes her two sons and their spouses, Kevin and Meghan Lewis of Mechanicsville, Virginia, and Keith and Kristi Lewis of Olive Hill, as well as her three grandchildren, Ajalyn, Aowyn, and Jonah, who she adored and loved with all her heart. One sister, Kathy Henry.

“We know that we can’t have you but we’re happy knowing that the angels have finally got you back. Goodbye to a wonderful woman and a beautiful mother.”

Visitation for Georgia “Faye” Lewis will be Thursday October 9, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and after 9:00 a.m. Friday at Gaydos Funeral Home, 159 Second Street in Vanceburg.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2025, at Gaydos Funeral Home with Pastor John M. Byard officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak. The family will serve as pallbearers.
