James Michael Childers, 66, of Tollesboro, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025, at Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation.
He was born at Newport on December 31, 1958, a son of the late Leonard and Flossie Willoughby Childers.
He was a retired pipefitter with Ranger Steel and was a member of Burtonville Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and attending outdoor events.
Survivors include three sons, Christopher (Khrysten) Childers of Maysville, Joshua Childers (Elizabeth Appleman) of Germantown, and Cory Childers (Hayley Rich) of Cold Spring; one sister, Connie (Gary) Tucker of Dover; one brother, Leonard Childers of Louisville; six grandchildren, Hadleigh Childers, Joshlynn Childers, Maverick Childers, Rhett Childers, Jonah Childers, and Marlie Childers; his significant other of 18 years, Karen Thomas; her children, Kindra Vice, Kimberly Miller, and Kyle (Shelby) Thomas; and grandchildren, Tristian Miller, Ely Doyle, Gabriel, and Samuel Miller, Arya Amberley and Erika Thomas. Many other family members and friends will also mourn his passing.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2025, at Tollesboro Funeral Home, 11918 KY 57 at Tollesboro, with his son Christopher Childers officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Bracken County.
Friends may visit after 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2025, at Tollesboro Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Childers, Joshua Childers, Cory Childers, Kyle Thomas, Ely Doyle, and Gene Brannen.
