Carolyn Sue Wright Scaggs, 79, of Garrison, went to be with her Lord Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
She was born at Garrison, a daughter of the late RB Wright and Mary Rowe Wright.
Carolyn was a devoted homemaker who centered her life around her faith, her family, and the joy of caring for those she loved.
Heaven gained a beautiful soul as Carolyn, a devoted follower of Christ, entered her eternal home in the arms of her Savior.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Jerry Edward Scaggs Sr.;
three sons, Jerry Edward Scaggs Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Michael Dewayne Scaggs of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Thomas Dean (Robin) Scaggs Sr. of Jackson, Ohio; four sisters, Wanda (Maurice) Brown of Garrison, Linda (Donnie) Brown of Wallingford, and Brenda Gilbert and Lisa (Chris) Weddington of Garrison;
one brother, Donnie (Rhonda) Wright of Quincy; two grandchildren, Thomas Dean (Corey) Scaggs Jr. and Taylor Marie (Bradley) Fulton;
and three great-grandchildren, Carter, Griffin, and Daisy. She also leaves behind several extended family members and many friends who will miss her dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lonnie Wright, and a brother-in-law, Jack Gilbert Sr.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2025, in Soldier Cemetery at Garrison.
