Mildred Polley Simpson, 95, of Vanceburg, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Hospice of Hope at Kenton Pointe in Maysville. Her loving family surrounded her.
Mildred was born in Lewis County on October 22, 1930, a daughter of the late Cecil and Lizzie Manley Polley. She was a member of New Life Fellowship Church, formerly Vanceburg Christian Baptist Church, for many years.
Survivors include a son, Mike (Virginia) Simpson of Mt. Orab, Ohio; two sisters, Doris Johnson of Aberdeen, Ohio, and Garneda Chinn of Chillicothe, Ohio; and her grandchildren, Michael (Kim) Simpson of Franklin, Ohio, Kristi Simpson of Georgetown, Ohio, Kim (George) Sparks and Wendy Mitchell of Tollesboro, and Tammy (Dennis) Brown and Kerri (Chris) Carver of Vanceburg. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Billy Simpson; a son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Susan Simpson; three sisters, Louella Butler, Oleta Stone, and Ruby Arthurs; and three brothers, Raymond Polley, Herbert Polley, and Johnny Polley.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Jim Bob Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.
Friends may visit after 9:00 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Dickerson Funeral Home.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
In place of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hope at Kenton Pointe in Maysville.
