Oscar Timothy Pruitt, 64, of Garrison, passed away Friday, January 30, 2026, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born at Bucyrus, Ohio, on October 11, 1961, a son of the late Oscar and Wanda Carver Pruitt.
Oscar was of the Pentecostal faith. He was a great preacher and songwriter, and loved music. He was a retired sawyer and enjoyed truck driving, tinkering, and especially spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Teresa Hope Thurman Pruitt; four daughters, Laura (Derrick) Lykins and Eliane (David) Stone of Vanceburg, Stacy (Jaden) Iery of Tollesboro, and Kimberly (Harold) Thornsbury of Wallingford; a sister, Dodie (John) Stamper of Garrison; three brothers, Jeffrey Alan (Sandy) Pruitt, Ronnie (Gail) Pruitt, and Douglas Pruitt of Garrison; and 12 grandchildren. He will be missed by many other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Nathan Timothy Pruitt.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue at Garrison, with Bro. John Stamper and Bro. Richard Thurman officiating. Burial will follow in Skidmore Cemetery at Garrison.
Friends may call after 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Globe Family Funeral Chapel at Garrison.
Pallbearers will be Oscar’s daughters and sons-in-law.
