Thelma Louise Thoroughman Bloomfield, 93, of Garrison, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 9, 2026, at her home. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Thelma was born in Lewis County on March 12, 1932, a daughter of the late Benjamin A. and Rosa Fetters Thoroughman.
She was a Baptist and loved going to church. She enjoyed quilting, canning, raising a big garden, and taking care of family.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Howard of Quincy and Billie (Dennis) Ray of Bucyrus, Ohio; three sons, Wendell (Donna) Moore of Tollesboro, Jerry Thoroughman of Garrison, and Handford (Debra) Thoroughman of South Shore; one sister, Nannie Jane Hobbs of Kentucky Heights; three brothers, Delbert (Georgetta) Thoroughman of Vanceburg, Donald Thoroughman of Bucyrus, Ohio, and Eddie (Laura Mae) Thoroughman of Salt Lick; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 26 great-great-grandchildren. Many other family members and friends will also sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, William “Bill” Bloomfield; three sisters; nine brothers; and a great-granddaughter, Brittney Burriss.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue at Garrison, with Bro. Ronnie Conley officiating. Burial will follow in Waring Cemetery at Garrison.
Friends may visit after 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel at Garrison.
Pallbearers will be Vallary Stone, Sondra Stamper, Diana Kiser, Jody Walters, Samantha Cooper, Marta Witten, Kenny Howard, Jason Howard, Steven Musick, Adam Witten, Andy Thoroughman, Brandy Thoroughman, Amy Cooper, and Sarah Howard.
