Janie Fetters

Edna Jane “Janie” Fetters of Vanceburg passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord on May 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and friends.

She was born on April 25, 1940, a daughter of the late James Walter Chinn and Mary Ethel Setters Chinn.

Janie was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of God whose life was marked by love, kindness, strength, and unwavering faith. She was a longtime member of Petersville Church of God, where she faithfully worshiped and lived as an example of Christian love to all who knew her. Her love for the Lord was evident in the way she cared for others, encouraged her family, and remained steadfast through every season of life.

Janie leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory. Survivors include her children, Larry (Jodi) Fetters, Debbie (Bob) Moore, and Wesley (Jessica) Fetters; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren who brought great joy to her life and whom she loved deeply.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Theresa Truesdell, who passed away in 2021; and all eight of her siblings, Janie being the last surviving member of her family’s generation.

Janie will be remembered for her gentle spirit, strong faith, warm heart, and the love she gave so freely to her family and friends. Though her earthly journey has ended, her family rejoices in knowing she is now at peace in her Heavenly home.

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Services will be at noon Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Roger Conley officiating. Burial will follow in Crystal Dawn Cemetery at Quincy.
