Vada Moore, 94, of Quincy, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at her home.
She was born at Twin Valley, Ohio, on August 5, 1932, a daughter of the late Robert and Maudie Ann Hicks Moore.
Vada attended Wright’s Chapel Church and was a Christian for more than 60 years. She loved going to church, reading her Bible, gardening, sewing, and cooking for her friends. Vada loved all the neighborhood children and treated them as her own.
Survivors include two sisters, Verlia Hartley of Argillite and Irene Kiser of Garrison. Many other family members and church friends will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Iva Madden; four brothers, Sterling Moore, Stanley Moore, Chester Moore, and Clarence Moore; three sisters-in-law; and four brothers-in-law.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Wright’s Chapel Church at Garrison with Bro. Mike Hall and Bro. Morgan Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Moore Family Cemetery on McDowell Road.
Friends may visit after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Wright’s Chapel Church. Vada will lie in repose at the church until the service hour Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Mark Moore, Jeff Moore, RT Hartley, Willy Thompson, Thayer Himes, George Bloomfield, and Paul Timberlake.
Chris Madden will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
