Mary Louise Haitz Hardin, age 63, of Garrison, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at Southern Ohio Medical Center Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Saturday, December 1, 1962, in Georgetown, Ohio, a daughter of the late Ronald Robert Haitz and Sherry Ferrell Haitz (Glen) Everman.
Mary was a Christian woman who loved her family. She was so kind to everyone she crossed paths with; Mary never met a stranger. She loved people, and she loved providing comfort through food. She was a cook, and her favorite thing to cook was everyone’s favorite meal. Whoever came to Mary’s would have food, shelter, and most of all, love.
Mary was an avid supporter of the community and always gave freely to community causes. She loved canning food from Bary’s garden, grilling with her son, Tyler, and a fresh pot of coffee while visiting on her front porch.
Most of all, Mary loved visiting with her family. They took many memorable sister trips and held lots of family reunions; Mary loved it all. She loved every single niece, nephew, cousin, or friend like her own, and each brother and sister more than you could imagine. Bary, Tyler, and Alicia were the loves of her life, but at the heart of it all was her Willow Grace. Her greatest love was being a Mimi.
Survivors include her loving husband of 40 years, Bary Hardin; one son, Tyler (Alicia) Hardin of Quincy; one granddaughter, Willow Grace Hardin; six sisters, Dreama (Lee) Barber of Mocksville, North Carolina, Lisa (Keith) Chapman of Quincy, Gwen (Derwood) Johnson of Mocksville, North Carolina, Tammy Everman Waters of Solsberry, Indiana, Glenda (Bill) Tumber of Alexander, New Hampshire, and Sandy Lyle (Steve Hall) of Lexington; three brothers, Ronnie (Brenda) Haitz of Quincy, Mooney Pierce of Morehead, and John Everman of Garrison; along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, George Haitz.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue at Garrison, with Bro. Woody Underwood and brother-in-law Bill Tumber officiating. Burial will follow in Hardin Cemetery at South Shore.
Friends may visit from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2026, and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at the funeral home.
