Carles B. Lykins, 87, of Golden Living Center in Vanceburg, formerly of Garrison, passed away Monday, February 22, 2016, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
Mr. Lykins was born in Wolfe County July 18, 1928, to the late Orville and Lillie Mae Jenkins Lykins. Carles worked in construction for 18 years and had also worked for Bird and Son Paper Mill in Franklin, Ohio.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Shirley Lykins of Vanceburg, whom he married August 30, 1976; a daughter, Lori Madden, and her fiancé, Bradley Thornton of Raceland; two sons, Harold (Roberta) Lykins of Miamisburg, Ohio, and Larry (Chasity) Lykins of Fairborn, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Billy Jo Lykins; one grandchild, Billy Lykins Jr.; sister, Leola Lykins; and four brothers, James, Leonard, Russell, and Charles Lykins.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016, at the I’ll Talk for Jesus Pentecostal Church on Rock Run Road at Vanceburg with Bro. Tony Corns officiating.
