Deputy Bryon Walker says a tire malfunction led to an accident that closed Ky. Rt. 8 between Vanceburg and Black Oak for five hours on Friday.
Walker said the accident happened about 11:30 a.m. Friday as an unloaded Freightliner tractor-trailer was traveling east on Ky. Rt. 8 just east of Dugan’s Curve.
He said the operator, Samuel Kagia Ndungi, 37, of Dallas, Texas, reported the right front tire on the rig blew resulting in it going off the right side of the roadway and into the ditch.
