Ada Griffitt, 77, of Tollesboro, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville.
She was born May 5, 1948, a daughter of the late William David and Daisy Bloomfield Butler.
Ada worked at Maysville Nursing and Rehab and was a lifelong member of Pine Valley Christian Church. She enjoyed working on puzzles, quilting, sewing, tending a garden, and babysitting her nieces and nephews.
Left to cherish Ada’s memory are three sisters, Celia Armstrong, Janet Reed, and Nancy Rickett; a brother, Walter (Julie) Butler; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice H. Griffitt; three sisters, Pauline Liles, Louise Wilburn, and Mae Kathern Butler; and five brothers, Glenwood Butler, Elwood Butler, Chester Butler, Mosie Butler, and James Butler.
Services will be at noon Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Gaydos Funeral Home, 159 Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Phil Cropper officiating. Burial will be in Griffitt Cemetery at Burtonville.
Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Gaydos Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Donald Armstrong, Jerry Wilburn, Walter Butler, Aaron Gilbert, Bobby Armstrong, and Michael Griffitt.
