A former Vanceburg minister accused of sexual abuse has been ruled competent to stand trial.

That determination came from Judge Robert Conley during a hearing in Lewis Circuit Court last week.

Duncan D. Aker Jr. 64, who was most recently living in Greensburg, Indiana, was arrested in May 2015 and charged with five counts of sexual abuse and four counts of sodomy after a Lewis County grand jury handed down an indictment against him.
