Alexis J. Thompson, 19, of Winchester, died Sunday morning, May 15, 2016, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Bourbon County.
Alexis is the daughter of Whitney and Vicky Ginn Thompson of Winchester, formerly of Vanceburg.
In addition to her parents, survivors include her grandmother, Janet Corns Thompson; uncle, Charles (Kathryn) Thompson Jr.; grandparents, Sam and Garneda Thoroughman Ginn; uncles, Harold Dean (Melissa) Ginn, Keith (Lorie) Ginn, Rodney Ginn, and Kevin Ginn; aunts, Linda Darlene (John) Morris and Barbara (Mike) Ison; and several cousins. She is also survived by her Brazilian sister, Fernanda Lecarda, who was an exchange student and resided with the Thompsons.
Alexis was preceded in death by a grandfather, Charles Thompson Sr.
Alexis had many interests and pursuits. She earned her Black Belt in Karate, and dearly loved her dog, Reagan. Alexis went to private Christian school and then graduated from George Rogers Clark High School in 2015.
She was a student at Morehead State University, having just completed her Freshman year. Alexis was excited to be enrolled in the Pharmacy program at MSU, and loved having the opportunity to gain work experience at Walmart in Winchester as a cashier and as a certified pharmacy technician. She was currently employed at Bourbon County Hospital in Paris and Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester as a pharmacy technician.
Services were Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at First Church of God on Colby Road in Winchester with Pastor Paul A. Hollingsworth, Rev. Bill Konstantopoulos, and Robbie Barnes officiating.
