Ruthard “Allen” Richmond, 76, of Emerson, passed away Friday, May 10, 2019, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
He was born on July 10, 1942, in Lewis County, a son of the late Ralph and Laveda Stamper Richmond.
Allen was a member of Laurel Christian Holiness Church and retired after 27 years with the Lewis County Board of Education as a teacher. He had served with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department and was a court bailiff. He was an avid outdoorsman and historian, and enjoyed farming and spending time with his family.
Allen is survived by his wife of 58 years, Alma White Richmond; one son Tony Richmond (Tracy) of Emerson; two grandchildren, Seth Montgomery Richmond and Kaitlin Mullins; and one sister, Shirley Caudill (Dan Dell) of Morehead. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Sam Richmond, and a sister Doris Sue Richmond.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel at Camp Dix with Bro. Jerry Bloomfield officiating. Burial will follow in Morgan Cemetery at Head of Grassy.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2019, and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 7975 Lower Kinney Road at Camp Dix.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
