An Amtrak passenger train struck an auto early Sunday after an accident that left the vehicle near the railroad tracks. No one was hurt in either incident.

Deputy Bryon Walker said the auto accident happened about 5:15 a.m. Sunday on Ky. Rt. 8 just east of St. Paul.

Walker said a 2002 Pontiac Montana, operated by David E. Clark, 62, of Vanceburg, was traveling west on the roadway when the vehicle’s right wheels dropped off the right side of the roadway.
