Amy Kennedy retires as executive director of BTADD

July 31 proclaimed as Amy Kennedy Day in Lewis County

After 28 years with the Buffalo Trace Area Development District, Executive Director Amy Kennedy has been counting the days until the beginning of her retirement from the agency.

Kennedy started with the agency in October 1996 as a transportation planner and after advancing to assistant economic director, and then programs director in 2003, was named to replace Steve Miller as executive director on June 1, 2008.

“I feel like it’s a wonderful opportunity for the region, our ADD district and myself,” Kennedy said of her appointment at the time.

Kennedy took that opportunity to lead the agency through countless projects for the five counties of the district, including her home county of Lewis.

“I have been blessed to meet, build strong friendships, and work with so many during my almost 28 years both within the organization and beyond,” Kennedy said.
