Anna Marie Brown, 70, of Vanceburg, passed away Monday, September 23, 2024, at her home following an extended illness. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Anna was born September 4, 1954, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Clifford and Margaret Standard Gilliam. Anna worked as a machinist for US Shoe Corporation in Vanceburg for several years. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God and Abundant Life Christian Outreach. Anna loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored.
Left to cherish Anna’s memories are her husband of 14 years James E. Brown, who she married February 6, 2010; two daughters, Amanda Dyer Owens (Charles Riley) of Garrison and Crystal (Roger) Kelley of Vanceburg; a stepdaughter, Keri (Derrick) Leslie of Vanceburg; a stepson, Josh Prince of Garrison; three sisters, Joyce (Rick) Westfall of Ovalton, Ohio, Eva (John) Lewis of Middletown, Ohio, and Christine Hornback of Douglasville, Georgia; and six grandchildren, Tyler Dummitt, Tayler Dummitt, Tatelynn Dyer, Tucker Dummitt, Treasure Owens, and Brenna Lee Leslie. Many nieces, nephews, and friends also survive who will mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna Faye Fultz and Patty Dunigan, and a brother-in-law, Richard Hornback.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Gaydos Funeral Home, 159 Second Street in Vanceburg, with Pastor Adam Dunigan officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.
Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2024, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Dummitt, Tucker Dummitt, Andy Fultz, Clifton Thoroughman, Shawn Fultz, and Roger Kelley.
