Anna E. Robinson, 85, of Vanceburg, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 22, 2025, surrounded by her family at Pioneer Trace Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Flemingsburg.
Anna was born at Irvine on May 7, 1939, a daughter of the late Joseph and Hazel Hensley Edwards.
She served as a teacher for the Lewis County Board of Education for 26 years. She also worked for the US Department of the Interior in Cincinnati, Ohio, the Berea Forest Research Center, the US Forest Service, and Sylvania Electric in Winchester.
Anna was a graduate of Morehead State University, having earned a bachelor’s degree in education in 1974 and her master’s as a reading specialist in 1980. She was a Kentucky Colonel and member of the Order of Eastern Star Alum City Chapter 222.
Anna was of the Christian faith and leaves behind a legacy of being a loving mother, wife, and friend. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchild and was loved by her many students.
Left to cherish her memories are three sons, William Ernie (Angie) Robinson of Morehead, Woodrow Earl (Angie) Robinson of Maysville, and William Earl Robinson Jr. (Joy Atkins) of Atlanta, Georgia; two sisters, Hazel Morgerson of Winchester and Alice (Gene) Beatty of Wilmore; her grandchildren, Brad, Deandra (Roger), Kelsey (Christopher), Kaleb (Danielle), Kiley, Ashton, Daphne, and Pheobe; and a great-grandchild, Parker. Many other relatives and friends also survive who will mourn her passing.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Gaydos Funeral Home, 159 Second Street in Vanceburg, with Sister Wilma Erwin officiating. Entombment will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2025, at Gaydos Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Bill Tom Stone, Jody Parkhill, John Edwards, Terry Underwood, Kaleb Robinson, and Chris Shumway.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Ruark and Brad Robinson.
