Rebecca Riedinger

Rebecca Logan Riedinger, beloved mother, wife, sister, and daughter, died peacefully at home with her children beside her on June 22, 2024. She was 83.

Survivors include her three children, Amanda Ackerman (Alfred) Lutter of Park City, Utah, Amy Riedinger (Daniel) Arnett of Garrison, and Charles Matthew Riedinger of Frankfort. She is also survived by two brothers, Bill (Faye) Logan of Minford, Ohio, and Nick (Donna) Logan of Interlachen, Florida.

She was preceded by her parents, Oran O. and Mollie Logan. Her sister, Rose Marie Logan (Bill) Schloss, preceded her in death in January 2024.

Rebecca, or Beckee as she was known to friends and family, was a devoted Christian and will be remembered most for her bright smile and warm laughter. Kind, generous, compassionate, and fun loving; she enjoyed hosting family reunions and holidays and traveling to visit family and friends.

Rebecca was a caring and supportive mother to her three children and loving partner to her husband. A lifelong caregiver, she retired from homecare at SOMC in Portsmouth, Ohio. Prior to her employment at SOMC, she was a videographer for Lewis County events and contributing editor to The Lewis County Herald

Beckee and Jake

As a caregiver, she provided loving care for her parents and husband until they passed. Rebecca’s caregiver journey began when her first husband, William Ackerman, contracted ALS. After his death, she returned to her hometown of Garrison and soon after, married her high school sweetheart, Charles “Jake” Riedinger; former Lewis County Attorney. Beckee and Jake were married for 35 years until Jake’s death in 2004.

Rebecca was a member of Garrison Church of Christ and a trustee for Waring Cemetery. Her dedication to her community continued throughout her life. She served on many community fundraising committees for local civic and political groups. Notably Garrison Little League, Garrison Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Women’s Club, Young Republicans, and Lewis County football and baseball.

Rebecca will be laid to rest beside her husband, Charles J. Riedinger, in Waring Cemetery at Garrison.

A memorial to celebrate her life will be in October.

Memorial contributions are suggested to The Alzheimer’s Association at https://alz.org.

Our mother is deeply missed but remains in the hearts of those who loved her always and forever.
