Benny Ray Lewis, 74, of Tollesboro, passed away Friday afternoon, December 23, 2016, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
He was born July 12, 1942, in Lewis County, a son of the late Eva Rigdon.
Benny was a member of Hesleton Baptist Church and worked as a carpenter. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, fishing, working in his garage and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Benny is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patsy Hauck Lewis; three sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Patti Lewis of Ashland, Todd and Maria Lewis of Vanceburg, and Tom and Melinda Lewis of Maysville; one daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Mark Rigdon of Vanceburg; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Opal Lewis of Vanceburg. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2016, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. Phil Cropper officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.
Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour on Friday, December 30, 2016, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
