Bert Joseph “Hobo Joe” Horsley, 48, of Garrison, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017, at his home.

He was born March 1, 1969, in Lewis County, a son of the late James and Ruby Stone Horsley.

Hobo Joe enjoyed fishing, scrapping, root digging, and spending time with family.

Hobo Joe is survived by four brothers, Randy Horsley and Markel Horsley, both of Vanceburg, and Merle Horsley and Rick Salvia, both of Garrison, and six sisters, Lillie Clark and Tammie Vanhoose, both of Garrison, Ruthie Jane Rister of Greenup, Linda Horsley of Vanceburg, Laura “Tean” King of Witchita, Kansas, and Elizabeth Rister of Quincy. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Marie Horsley; and two brothers, Wendel Salvia and Jimmy Horsley.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017, at his home with Bro. Tim Underwood officiating. Burial will follow in Horsley Family Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Hobo Joe’s residence.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Globe Family Funeral Chapel in Garrison is caring for all arrangements.
