Betty L. Bloomfield, 69, of Garrison, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025, at her home. Her loving family surrounded her.
Betty was born at Garrison on December 14, 1956, a daughter of the late Buster Kenneth and June Richardson Skidmore.
She had worked for US Shoe and Component plants in Vanceburg. She also worked for Coroplast LLC until her retirement. Betty loved gardening in her spare time. She was of the Christian faith.
Left to cherish Betty’s memories are her husband, JR Bloomfield; one daughter, Miriah (Eli) Hernandez of Fannin, Texas; a sister, Cora (Ray) May of Garrison; and two grandchildren, whom she adored and loved, Elaina and Nolan Hernandez.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma Collier and Freda Hauck; and nine brothers, Homer, James Donald, Ronald Thomas, Mike, David, Kenneth, Nelson, Larry, and Bud Skidmore.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Gaydos Funeral Home, 159 Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Morgan Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Skidmore Cemetery at Garrison.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Gaydos Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Joey Owens, Jimmy Skidmore, Buckie Skidmore, David Skidmore Jr., Ray May Jr., Eddie Skidmore, Kyle Moore, and Hunter Skidmore.
Honorary pallbearers will be Eli, Elaina, and Nolan Hernandez.
