Betty Jo Richmond, 84, of Lexington, formerly of Lewis County, passed away Monday evening, August 14, 2017, at Fort Loudon Medical Center in Lenoir, Tennessee.

She was born April 19, 1933, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Joseph Arlin and Rose Hamilton Richmond.

Betty was of the Pentecostal faith and worked as private nurse until her retirement. She enjoyed talking to people, needle pointing, making crafts, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.

Betty is survived by two brothers, Jack Richmond of Port Richey, Florida, and Tinker Richmond of Maryville, Tennessee; and one sister, Georgia Maddix of Lexington. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bruce Richmond and Joe Richmond; and four sisters, Jenivee McFadden, Tina Petty, Nina Richmond, and Martha Morgan.

A graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Hamilton-Mawk Cemetery on Tar Fork with Bro. Tom Hamilton officiating.
