Billy Joe Clark

William Joseph “Billy Joe” Clark Sr., 79, of Garrison, passed peacefully at his home Tuesday, August 23, 2022, following a battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends.

He was born in Lewis County on January 1, 1943, a son of the late Earl Clark and Mae Cooper.

Billy Joe was a shoemaker, starting his career at Williams Shoe Factory and then retiring from US Shoe Factory. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play, he also enjoyed watching westerns.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, LeeAnne Willis Clark; two sons, Joey (Cathy) Clark of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Ray (Lisette) Clark of Vanceburg; three granddaughters; two step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; two half-sisters, Kay and Earlene; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Billy Joe was preceded in death by one brother, Ottie Clark.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue at Garrison, with Bro. Brad Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Cooper-Willis Cemetery at Garrison.

Friends may visit after 10:00 a.m. Sunday, August 28, 2022, at the funeral home.

Josef Willis, Tim Scott, Tony Scott, Blake Haven, Steven Clark and Duke Willis will serve as pallbearers.
